Cranberry Math

Today we used cranberries and toothpicks for math.  Everyone drew a square, triangle and rectangle using their template.  Next they had to decide how many cranberries they would need to make the shape. Then they had to decide how many cranberries they would need to create 3D shapes, a cube, a rectangular prism and a pyramid.  Finally they could build their structures and see if their estimates for cranberries were accurate.  After they built their shapes, they could continue to build. They then worked together to make elaborate group structures and gave them names.

Happy Thanksgiving
